EXIT 52 En el límite
Es el ojo el que define los límites, el que cada vez profundiza y expande esa posibilidad de espacios por caminar, por dominar. Porque llegar al límite, cruzar esa frontera que pocos alcanzan no es...
Munich (Germany), 1964. The photographer continues to live and work in his hometown, yet he has never stopped travelling. After graduating from the Technische Universität München with a degree in architecture, he furthered his studies at the Facoltá di Architettura della Universitá di la Sapienza, Rome. From 1995 to 2001 he was a freelance architect, after which he became a photographer. He employs two techniques in the production of his works: prolonged exposure times and double exposure. The former technique erases all trace of life from the images, since long exposures tend to eliminate any signs of human beings. For the latter he uses a large format camera and exposes each negative twice: once during the day and again during the night in order to superimpose them digitally afterwards. This technique produces an alienating and artificial effect, nuanced by a strange bright grey. His works have been shown in galleries and museums all around the world. He is currently represented by Nusser & Baumgart Contemporary, Munich and Espai Visor, Valencia. www.thomas-weinberger.de
