EXIT 2 Sobre la piel
Pintado, escrito, grabado sobre la piel, el tatuaje es una narración sobre nuestros miedos y nuestros deseos. La historia de cada tatuaje tiene una relación, no siempre tan clara, con la historia...
Milan (Italy), 1938. After graduating from the Universita Cattolica in Milan, he worked in Cinetta in Rome for a year before going off, in 1961, to work as Tom Kublin’s assistant on the project of creating a photographic archive of French fashion collections. In 1965, he begins a collaboration with Vogue Italy by making the photograph for the cover of its first number. Later, he will work for the French and American editions of Vogue, as well as for the designers Valentino, Armani, Saint-Laurent, Ferré and Versace. In 1978, the magazine Stern already considered him to be one of the 14 best fashion photographers in the world, and in 1982, in collaboration with Armani, he published his first book of fashion and portrait photography entitled Artificial. During his travels for Vogue, Barbieri came into contact with other cultures that fascinated him and he soon began to photograph the inhabitants and the landscape for his own pleasure, which resulted in the beautiful images published in books such as Madagascar, Tahiti Tattoos and the most recent Equator. Barbieri continues his personal and fashion work in his Milan studio. His photographs can be found in many of the most important collections in the world, including the Victoria & Albert Museum of London and the Kunstforum of Vienna.
